My latest work has been taking place in a work environment, my work environment. Lately, I have not been doing many news stories but still been doing stories. Am I starting to steer toward doing more editorial and documentary work? I feel very unfair and unsatisfied with covering news stories as the stories come. 1/27/23 Dallas, Texas - At 6:30 PM, a group of protestors and organizers, Next Generation Action Network (NGAN),  meet at the Dallas Police Headquarters to voice their support with Memphis, Tennessee, after police released the footage of a young black man, Trye Nicholes, being beaten by five officers and later passing from his wounds. Protestors spoke on a microphone about their frustrations on still fighting against police violence against black men and women. The first sight of snow in the areas of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, started around 7:00 PM, 01/24/2023. Road conditions grow more unsafe as the snow melts and freezes on the highways. In February 2021 Texas experienced an ice storm that took down the state's power grid and left millions without power. During the oath of office, Texas Governor Greg Abbott states the power grid is a top priority.

This coverage was a commissioned assignment with AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, Texas. Children from West Dallas attend a music event sharing the sounds and traditions of Hawaiian music and dance.

Images were taken during a hot and humid day in Grand Parie, Texas at the Flee Market. A huge concrete lot with spaces for vendors to sell goods and food. Last year a sight like this would not have existed due to the pandemic. As 2021 reaches the summer season, more public events like this almost affect 2019 was just a bad dream.

So I recently have taken a step back and decided that I needed a break from the internet world and just from the thoughts of having to keep up. As the pandemic starts to see the end of the road, we are all left to just start life back to normal. I find this easier said than done. Long story short, I have decided to refocus on myself, my work, and my family. These images are of my personal experience from the past year we all seem to have hated, 2020. 

For the last two months, I have been focusing my cameras on two brothers in Weatherford, Texas. Weatherford is known in the media lately for its July 24th protests against the Confederate monument that was anonymously voted to stay on the courthouse grounds; locals came out to protest against the statue as they did to protect it. Guns and violence broke out of this small town as racism issues have been focused around the country. These two brothers are on the front lines in this fight. So for many years, I have tried to keep up with a photoblog. Needless to say, once Instagram came out, I scrapped the idea of a blog. This year, what has changed for me is the importance of showcasing my work under a platform where the right people can see it. I feel my audience on Instagram is more leaned to people looking at photos and people who take photos. I hope to share some work that shows my love and passion for photography and long-term storytelling.
